Which of our carts are street legal?
A golf cart is street legal in the low-speed-vehicle (LSV) sense when it is built or equipped to run at 20 to 25 mph with the lights, mirrors, seat belts, windshield and VIN that road use requires. These 7 carts are the ones whose manufacturer record says LSV. Two are sold as LSVs at 25 mph; the 5 Evolution models are 19 mph carts that reach 25 mph with the maker’s LSV package, so ask us whether that package is fitted on the unit you are quoted before you assume it. Prices run from $6,695 to $13,999, all electric, seating 2, 4 or 6.

What street legal means in Florida
Florida treats a golf cart and a low-speed vehicle as two different things. A golf cart (up to 20 mph) may only use roads a county or city has opened to carts. A low-speed vehicle (20 to 25 mph, with the equipment above) must be titled, registered and insured like a car, and may be driven on public roads posted at 35 mph or less, under Florida Statute 316.2122. Registration is done at your county tax collector, not by us, and a cart that is street legal in Florida may not be in another state, so check the rules where the cart will live. Our Florida golf cart laws guide covers driver age, titles and road access.
How to choose
Decide the seat count first: two seats for a couple or a commute, four for a family, six for a neighborhood or a rental. Then check the top speed on the product page. A 19 mph cart with a package on order is not a 25 mph cart until the package is fitted. Every figure on this page is read from the product record; freight is a flat $250 to any address we ship to and is shown before you pay.
What is a low-speed vehicle (LSV)?
A low-speed vehicle is a federal vehicle class: a four-wheeled motor vehicle that can reach more than 20 mph and not more than 25 mph on a paved level surface, with a gross vehicle weight rating under 3,000 lb (49 CFR 571.3). Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500 requires it to carry headlamps, front and rear turn signals, tail lamps, stop lamps, red reflex reflectors, an exterior mirror on the driver’s side plus a passenger-side or interior mirror, a parking brake, a windshield of automotive safety glazing, a vehicle identification number and a seat belt at every seating position. Our low-speed vehicle guide lists the full standard and the Florida rules.
LSV vs golf cart: what is the difference?
Florida Statute 320.01 defines a golf cart as a vehicle built for golf-course use that is not capable of exceeding 20 mph. A golf cart may use only the roads a county or city has opened to golf carts. An LSV is titled, registered and insured, and may use public roads posted at 35 mph or less. The equipment fitted and the vehicle’s paperwork decide which one a cart is, not the badge, so check both before you buy.
Do street-legal golf carts have seat belts?
A low-speed vehicle must: Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500 requires a Type 1 or Type 2 seat belt at every designated seating position. So a cart sold as an LSV comes with them. The Evolution models here reach LSV status with the maker’s LSV package, so ask us to confirm in writing that the unit you are quoted has the package, belts included. Our low-speed vehicle guide lists the full equipment standard.
